It had a bunch of twists and turns. I thought that the book was really good. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense and sort of mystery! I have written other teen thrillers: Shock Point, Torched, Girl Stolen, The Night She Disappeared, and The Body in the Woods. The woman’s name is Elizabeth and Cady doesn’t recognize her, but Elizabeth seems to know her. WHAT?! She has been kidnapped and she is in pain. To be completely transparent this wasn't as thrilling as I was hoping it would be but it was still a good read. She only knows that there are two men in the cabin with her and that they want her dead. Katie meets James, Ty’s roommate, and the next day the same men are knocking on apartment doors trying to find her. I have really liked April Henry's adult books but this fizzled out quite a bit at 2/3rd the way done and was so anti-climatic it ruined the ambiance of the story. Katie doesn't remember who she is or what happened to her. Unlike all the problems I had with The Progeny, where the premise was faulty at best, Cady's story was totally believable. She has a naturally instinct to drive and decided to trust her instinct to get her to safety. She discovers that she is missing fingernails and she has taken quite a beating. Katie doesn't remember who she is or what happened to her. The voices she hears are of two men arguing about whether or not they should kill her. But we do get know what happens between Katie and Ty.
